Based out of Troy, we build throughout the Triad School District area and beyond, and work directly with several developers and suppliers. We take pride in the fact that many of our sales are made by referral. We consider these referrals as a great compliment, and we are thankful for the many pleased customers who have shared our name with their family and friends.

Founded in 1972 by Jack Penn, Penn Builders has undergone many changes through the years and has maintained an excellent reputation through them all.  Jack taught his sons John and Jim not only how to build a home from the ground up but also the values of responsibility, hard work, and quality. John and Jim oversee the majority of the new construction and day-to-day operations. We are sad to say that Jack passed away in December of 2020, but his knowledge and experience will continue to impact both our business and families for the rest of our lives. 

With over 50 years in the construction industry, Gary Penn has recently taken a well deserved retirement! Gary had run our remodeling division - we are not currently taking on any home improvement projects. Thanks for your patience as we look at options to fill his role.
